Ex. Katzenjammer member Sol Heilo goes solo, announcing new album and live dates.

From jack-of-all-trades to queen of hearts, the “ever smiling” Sol Heilo answers to many names – not least of which: artist, composer, multi-instrumentalist, music producer, arranger, video producer, designer and costume designer. Her new solo album "Skinhorse Playground" is due for release October 27th 2017.

Following a successful career in Norwegian folktet Katzenjammer, Sol approaches her solo debut with the same wide-eyed wonderment that saw her pick up a guitar (and trumpet, and banjo, and harp, and flute, and accordion, and drums, among others) in the first place.  ‘Skinhorse Playground’ owes much of its sound to producer Hasse Rosbach (Moddi, Turbonegro, Team Me), who called in an eclectic mix of jazz composers, punk purists and LA-based session legends – not least of which, Jeff Babko (Neil Young, Beck, Frank Ocean, Jimmy Kimmel Live) – to push Sol even further from her Katzenjammer comforts. Together with Rosbach, Sol experimented with a wide variety of sounds, recording hundreds of samples from scratch – including Celtic harp, accordion, dulcimer, flutes, fiddles and trumpets. The first single "America" is available now. The debut album "Skinhorse Playground" is due for release October 27th 2017 (on Propeller Recordings). Available for pre-order. On Nov 24th 2017 Sol Heilo is playing Parkteatret in Oslo, followed by a series of live dates in Germany and Netherlands in February and March 2018. 07.09.2017
